A Major is a Singapore-based software company founded in 2026. We were incorporated to build Ryu, our flagship product, and the company grew from that one idea into something broader: the foundation for AI agents.

Today A Major runs two arms as siblings.

Every engagement and every product is led directly by our founder.

Why "A Major"?

Say it out loud. A Major. It sounds incomplete, like something is missing. A major what?

That is the point. The name is a setup without a punchline, a sentence that invites you to finish it. A major product. A major system. A major shift in how your business runs. We don't fill in the blank. Our work does.

In music theory, A Major is the key signature, the tonal foundation that defines the structure so every instrument can play in harmony. It doesn't make the sound itself. It sets the rules so everything resolves together. That is what we do. We build the foundation underneath: the systems, the infrastructure, the products that hold everything else up.

As a brand, the name has a natural elegance. Three syllables, alternating vowels and consonants, a rhythm that sounds almost French. It carries a sense of craft and intention before you even know what the company does. And as a domain, amajor.ai reads as "a major AI", a built-in value proposition every time someone types the URL.

A Major Agency

Software that just works.

A Major Agency is our services arm. We build websites, web and mobile apps, browser extensions, SaaS products, AI agents, MCP servers, and enterprise systems for Singapore SMBs and funded startups. Every engagement gets a clear scope up front, direct access to the founder, and a finished product that runs in production.

The agency is the runway. It funds the company without dilution and gives our products a live enterprise test bed across translation, insurance, accounting, and retail.

Our vision

We believe AI will become like electricity: invisible, always on, woven into every surface and system you touch. You won't open an app to use AI. It will just be there, running in the background, anticipating what you need before you ask. The best technology disappears. You only notice it when it stops working.

Our job is to build the software that makes that future real, and to make sure it actually works when it gets there. Whether it is a product we ship under our own name or software we build for a client, the standard is the same: reliable, well-built, and delivered by people who care about the outcome.

Our founder

Jia Wei Ng / Founder

Jia Wei holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Glasgow and has over 7 years of professional experience in software engineering across web, mobile, and enterprise platforms.

Before A Major, he served as Business Director at Base 7, building apps for clients across industries. He led development of a medicine delivery routing system for Singapore's public hospitals at Better Age Solutions, and delivered blockchain-based enterprise applications for document provenance and commodity tokenisation at 1Citadel.

At A Major, Jia Wei remains personally involved in every product and every client engagement.

What we believe

We started A Major because we have seen too many businesses pay good money for software they can't maintain, understand, or grow with. Agencies that subcontract everything. Timelines that slip for months. Products that impress in a demo but fail in daily use.

AI has made the problem worse, not better. Around 41% of all code written in 2025 was AI-generated. But faster doesn't mean more dependable. Studies show AI-assisted pull requests have 1.7x more issues, technical debt increases 30 to 41% after AI adoption, and change failure rates are up 30%. The industry is caught in a speed trap: shipping more, breaking more.
